WHO ARE WE?
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to those in need. The Founders of Delta Sigma Theta envisioned an organization committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and addressing the social issues of the time. Since its founding, Delta Sigma Theta has become one of the preeminent service-based sororities, with more than 350,000 initiated members and over 1,050 chartered chapters worldwide.
As a sisterhood comprised primarily of Black, college-educated women, the Sorority seriously considers the issues impacting the Black community and boldly confronts the challenges of African Americans and, hence, all Americans. Over the years, a wide range of programs addressing education, health, international development, and the strengthening of African American families have evolved. The major programs of the Sorority are based upon the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: economic development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and mental health, and political awareness and involvement.

On behalf of the extraordinary women of the Macomb Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, thank you for visiting our website. It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as President of this dynamic chapter and to welcome you into our virtual home. As you learn more about who we are and the work we do, I hope you will gain a deeper understanding of our unwavering commitment to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action.
Chartered on May 23, 2020, by 61 visionary women, our chapter proudly serves the communities of Clinton Township, Eastpointe, Harrison Township, Macomb, Macomb Township, Mt. Clemens, Roseville, Shelby Township, St. Clair Shores, Sterling Heights, Warren, and Washington Township.
Driven by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s mission and theme, “One Delta – One Mission – Anchored in Legacy and Evolving with Intention,” we are committed to advancing meaningful change through our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:
- Economic Development
- Educational Development
- International Awareness and Involvement
- Physical and Mental Health
- Political Awareness and Involvement.
As we start the 2026–2028 biennium, I am excited to lead this chapter through the VIP experience. Our work will be anchored in three guiding principles that reflect who we are and who we aspire to be—vision‑driven, impact‑centered, and purpose‑aligned. Together, we will elevate our chapter, empower our communities, and honor the legacy entrusted to us.

- United in Purpose – Strengthening our sisterhood as we work together to create lasting change.
Grounded in these guiding principles, we move forward with clarity and purpose. We will return to the fundamentals of our sisterhood—honoring our Founders’ enduring legacy while embracing new opportunities to elevate our impact, strengthen our communities, and empower future generations.
